Small engine crankshafts are statically hardened and special split coils are developed in our Detroit R&D and Commercial Heat Treat Facility to satisfy whatever hardening pattern is required. Because we are so centrally located in the center of the small engine market, we’ve been working with a number of manufacturers for many years, providing us an expertise that’s difficult to find anywhere else.

• Automation carries the staged crankshaft 180 degrees, and at the same time delivers the heat-treated part to the operator for load/unload. Maximizing automation and minimizing operator motion is key to increased production and consistent quality.
