Cylinder liners are hardened utilizing a scanning process with a specially designed coil and quench block designed to fit the ID of the liner. The Pillar scanning process makes the end results predictable and repeatable.

Fully automated, this installation uses a gantry system to load and unload the liners, while all process parameters are monitored. The hardening station is on the left and the tempering station is on the right.
