| Pillar can now look back on more than 15 years of experience in IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) technology for induction heating. The reasons for using the modern IGBT technology are many, amongst others:
The power factor (ratio of active current to idle current) is always above 0.95 due to an uncontrolled rectifier.
The use of potential-free water cooling saves on expensive water preparation and the higher admissible flow temperature of the cooling water reduce the expenditure for the cooling water system.
